Apples, Winesap (Eco/Heirloom)
A popular apple in the Mid-Atlantic States, Winesap originated about 1817. It is medium sized with red skin and a coarse, very crisp, juicy white flesh. When ripe they have enough sugar to balance the strong, tart flavor. Winesap is excellent for eating out of hand, cooking, and cider. This variety also stores well.
